Almost 40 000 of untaxed cigarettes were found in secret compartments on a board of coach traveling from Ukraine's Ivano-Frankivsk to Prague on Tuesday. Smugglers will have to pay the excise duties of more than 82 000 Czech Crowns (3 000 EUR), in addition, they face up to three years imprisonment.
This year customs officers from the City of Prague has revealed 10 similar cases of smuggling and secured nearly 300 000 cigarettes. In those cases, they prevented a tax evasion amounting to 800 000 Czech Crown (29 000 EUR).
