No casualties after two trains collide in Central Bohemia

Two passenger trains collided on Tuesday afternoon near Poříčany railway station, located in Central Bohemian Region. No passengers involved in train accident were seriously injured, but multiple people sustained minor injuries.

Accident occurred at about 3 o’clock in the afternoon after local train struck a passing express train, causing it to derail. According to the witnesses, train operator of the local train caused the crash by running a red light.

Service at the station remained suspended for 2 and half hours. According to The Rail Safety Inspection, an estimate of the cost of the damage, is about 4.5 million Czech Crowns.
