Last year, people donated 66 tons of food and it is yet uncertain how many people donated this year. However more stores joined the campaign and the volunteers who had been collecting the food estimate that there will be around a 100 tons of donated food. Most of people donated rice and all kinds of pasta, but some generous people donated full shopping carts of food.
All donated food will be given to charitable organisations. This event is meant to raise awareness and help poorer regions of Czech republic, since around fifteen percent of residents could really use an economical help.
