Czech natural gas reserves set to increse

The Energy Regulatory Office seeks to prepare stricter ordinance on gas supply to the Czech Republic. Currently, suppliers must keep a gas reserve equivalent to one month supply but office wants them to keep gas supply for entire winter. 

In addition, these reserve muss be located within the Czech distribution network at all times. All new ordinances should be in place before the end of October said Alena Vitásková, Chairwoman of the Energy Regulatory Office, on Sunday afternoon.

In response to the crisis in Ukraine, Energy Regulatory Office began inspections of suppliers, whether they comply with standards and have sufficient gas reserves. State Secretary for European Affairs, Tomáš Prouza, said on Thursday that according to inspections so far the Czech Republic has now gas reservoirs fully filled.
