Czech Railway’s Annual Passanger Numbers Grow To 175 Million

About 175 Million passengers used the state-owned rail operator last year. That is an annual increase of about 3.2 Million - one of the largest in years.

The company shared the numbers in a press release.

In the previous 5 years, Czech Railways had been showing much slower passenger number grow – only about 0.5 to 1 million annually.

The average distance traveled per trip also increased in 2017. Currently, it stands at about 44.5 kilometers per trip.

Czech Railway is historically the largest Czech railway carrier since it was established in 1993.

There are currently 2 more railway companies directly competing with Czech Railways – Leo Express and RegioJet.
