Czech artists rap against povetry in Bangladesh

One of the first Czech hip hop bands, Pio Squad, returns with a beneficial tour and a new track that is supposed to raise awareness of many Bangladesh problems, such as illiteracy and poverty.

After an almost seven-year hiatus, a hip-hop group Pio Squad returns with a single Čalantika. Named after the poorest slum district in Bangladesh, the group alerts current problems, such as poverty and low education. As they mention in their video almost half of all adults are not literate and about two and a half million children are too poor to attend school. In collaboration with humanitarian organisation ADRA, the group plans a beneficial tour.

During the tour, the band raised almost 90 000 crowns. Even though that is a lot, it is not enough and people can still donate on the band’s website.
