Three Die in Bus Accident North of Prague

At least three fatalities and 45 injured are confirmed by the emergency services as a regional coach collides with an oncoming vehicle in Horoměřice, north of Czech Capital.

The accident occurred at 4 pm – just when the Friday afternoon rush hour was about to start.

Three people, including the driver of the oncoming car, died at the scene of the accident. Another 45 injured had been transported to the nearby hospitals. Five were in critical condition.

Ten passengers had to be freed from the wreckage.

Medical Rescue Service of the Capital City of Prague confirmed the casualty count on the official Twitter profile.

The bus passengers involved in the crash had been traveling to Kralupy nad Vltavou, a town of 18,000 in the Central Bohemian Region.

An official investigation has been launched by the authorities to determine the cause of the accident.
