Subzero temperatures forecasted to close out year

It may almost be a new year, but 2014 will not go quietly, at least according to forecasts from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. The forecast calls for a cold week and crisp New Year's Day. Year-end temperatures are not expected to climb above freezing point.

The coldest temperatures will be experienced early Tuesday morning when they will drop and range between -11 and -7 ° C. Cold weather might be accompanied by snow showers. Later during the day, temperatures will be running between -7 and -3 ° C and no major snowfalls are predicted.

On Wednesday during the day, temperatures will remain slightly below freezing point. On Wednesday night, they maight drop down to -10 °C. So dress warm on New Year’s Eve.

Warmer weather is expected to arrive with a new year.
