Freezing weather causes transport complications

Due to yesterday's heavy rain, along with freezing weather, trolleys all over Czech republic, as well as a lot of tracks, have frozen over. This situation caused most of trams, trolleybuses and trains to stop.

The spokesman of the company České dráhy (Czech Railways) said that most of the railroads connecting Prague and Moravia, can’t be used. However this situation is supposed to be better in the afternoon, but it is still not certain, since it depends mostly on the weather.

But the worst part is, that as some of the tracks froze over last night, some trains got and are still stuck on the road. There are dozens of empty trains, but some still have people in them. Most of these trains are heated, but some are not. The spokesman said, that a diesel locomotive and firemen are coming to help the situation but only time will tell how that turned out.

The ČD company suggests people should check their website to see further information on the situation.
