Gas blast house explosion investigated as possible murder-suicide

A last weeks' gas explosion in South Bohemian town of Ceske Budejovice is now being treated as a possible murder-suicide, it has emerged. The Police confirmed Monday.

On Christmas Eve afternoon, fire crews found three dead bodies in a partially collapsed residential building that was shaken by a massive explosion followed by a structural fire sweeping through it.

According to police spokesman Miroslav Doubek, authorities are investigating the case as a double homicide and a suicide. Autopsy results have shown that two victims, woman and a child, were already dead at the time of the explosion.

Police refused to comment what was the cause of Mother’s and Child’s death.

According to Investigators, the third dead person, a middle-aged man who is believed to killed his wife and step-son, was found in a separate room. He reportedly burned himself to death after pouring gasoline on himself.
