Group gathers in silent protest against IS in Prague centre

As a response to an ongoing massacres in Iraq and Syria, around hundred people have come to the Wenceslas square to express their disapproval against the behavior of the terrorist organisation IS.

Throughout the world, people rage against the current situation in these arabic countries, Czech republic has also joined a global initiative to support the protection of the Assyrians – Demand For Action. The non-profit organisation Člověk v tísni (Human in despair) plans to send financial help to Iraqi fugitives, in form of one million crowns, just for start.

The demonstration had been organised by the czech People’s party (KDU-ČSL) and one of its members and also the minister of culture had nicely summarized the overall thoughts of all participants:

“We cannot let murderers rule any part of the world.”
