Prague main railway station gets new roof

If you want to travel in Czech Republic, perhaps the best way is by taking the train. But sadly for the next two years, you have to expect some difficulties since the transportation in the heart of the Czech railroads, Hlavní nádraží, will be rather limited.

Since the old, rounded roof over the platforms is being repaired, some of the train lines are changing. While some of the trains are still going through the main railway station, they wait much shorter time than they used to. Other lines have changed their path and are going through the Masaryk railway station instead.

The repairmen will change all the glass plates on the roof, repaint the steel construction, adjust the new trolleys and the ropes that hold them. The repair may take up to two years and will cost little under a billion crowns.
