Hundreds of people gathered Friday to show their disapproval with alleged spread of Islam in European countries. This is a first such protest in the Czech Republic organized by movement called "We do not want Islam in the Czech Republic."Posted at 1:26 am on January 17, 2015 by Jan Uruba
Waving Czech flags and banners, chanting slogans such as “Islam is Terror” and “Away with Islam,” the protesters were addressed by a series of speakers. By holding a minute of silence, crowd also honored the 17 victims killed in the French capital during terrorist attacks last week.
Two dozen counter-protesters showed up to disagree with group’s aim “to ban spreading and promoting of Islam.” Police were closely monitoring the situation, but no major intervention was needed.
