Former judge pleads guilty to pickpocketing on public bus

A former judge who was caught in February 2015 while stealing a wallet from a backpack of a 17-years old on a public bus in Prague pleaded guilty to felony charges Monday. If found guilty, he faces up to 2 years in prison.

A former judge pleaded guilty to felony charges in a Prague-West District Court. He is facing an accusation of stealing a wallet with debit cards and 200 CZK inside from a 17-year old on a public bus in Prague.

“My sexual deviance motivated the theft. I did it for the purpose of my satisfaction,” 37 years old ex-judge stated. “I regret it. I realize that my actions significantly discredited the reputation of the judiciary and judges, in general, ” he added.

The hearing will continue in September.
