Pilot dies in helicopter crash near Litoměřice

Small 2-seater helicopter crashed, killing pilot in the north of the Czech Republic. The helicopter burst into flames as it hit the ground in the middle of a plowed field near Litoměřice, town of 26 000 in Ústí nad Labem region.

Police spokeswoman, Pavla Kofrová, confirmed one dead in the crash that occurred around 10 am on Thursday. “Pilot is yet to be identified,” she added.

According to local sources, crashed helicopter was an A600 Talon model, assembled in the USA and imported into the Czech Republic a year ago.

Authorities are investigating circumstances surrounding the crash.
