Cars were made by Romanian manufacturer Astra Vagoane Calatori. According to RegioJet, each car’s cost is about 1 million Euros and it will be the first time that RegioJet offers onboard entertainment in second class cars.
None of the new cars are to be registered with authorities in the Czech Republic. Instead, all of them are set to have Austrian registration. RegioJet’s owner, Radim Jančura, explains this move with a bad experience that he encountered at the time of RegioJet’s beginnings with Czech Rail Authority.
