Eight Charged Over Fatal Prague Wall Collapse

Criminal charges have been filed against eight people following a wall collapse onto a footpath on Na Neklance street in Prague which killed one person in April.

All eight were charged with criminally negligent manslaughter (Negligent Public Menace) – a charge laid upon offenders in cases where death results from serious negligence by exposing others to a hazard of death or grievous bodily harm.

According to the Criminal Code the charge carries a penalty of two to eight years of imprisonment or a pecuniary penalty.

Police did not disclose the identity of any of the suspects.

Wind gusts are believed to have caused the collapse of the brick wall which fell onto the footpath on Na Neklance street.
