Crash Involving Bus and Van Sends 4 to Hospital

Emergency services were called to an accident involving a bus carrying 12 people and a van near Kolín, a town in the Central Bohemian Region.

The crash happened at about 6:30 AM Monday morning.

Both drivers and a passenger from each vehicle were injured in the collision. The van driver, who had to be rescued from the wreckage, was airlifted to Prague in serious condition. The other three were taken to Kolín Hospital, Petr Svoboda, the spokesperson for the Regional Fire Rescue Service, confirmed.

The road was partially blocked as the vehicle recovery operation took place.

The cause of the accident is still to be determined by a police investigation.
