Czechia has announced its 16-player roster for the upcoming U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup, aiming to secure their second consecutive medal in this prestigious event. The World Cup is scheduled to take place in Hermosillo, Mexico, from November 11 to 19, 2023.
This announcement comes on the heels of Czechia’s historic achievement at the WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup 2020 in New Zealand, where they secured a bronze medal. The team, currently ranked 6th in the world, is eager to replicate or even surpass their previous success.
The Czech roster for the World Cup includes:

All 16 players will be making their World Cup debut in Hermosillo. The team is managed by Ondřej Stroner, with assistance from coaches Dušan Borbély, Filip Mostěk, Michal Trtílek Michal, Lukáš Míka, and Jaroslav Korčák. The staff also includes Šnelly Dušan (scouting), Jiří Kost (development coach, scouting), and Radim Žídek (physiotherapist).
Czechia will compete in Group A of the WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup, alongside Australia (ranked 2nd), Canada (ranked 4th), Mexico (ranked 10th), Singapore (ranked 12th), and Colombia (ranked 24th). In 2020, Czechia’s remarkable performance, led by ace Jakub Osicka, culminated in a 2-0 victory over Argentina in the bronze medal game in Palmerston North, New Zealand. This achievement marked their first-ever men’s softball world cup medal.
