Fire Rescue Services honed their disaster response skills during a responder hazardous material decontamination training exercise on Thursday in Prague.

The exercise was held in the Czech capital by the Fire and Rescue Service’s Department for Population Protection and Emergency Management along with Regional Fire Rescue Services of Capital of Prague.

During the daylong exercise, students of the security management in public administration bachelor degree programme at the Police Academy of the Czech Republic in Prague were used as role players who acted as injured survivors of the chemical disaster. Fire and Rescue Service hopes to use their input to make the future human decontamination process more effective and as pleasant as possible for the victims, Michal Friedrich from the Prague’s Fire Rescue Services shared.
