“Honorary consul of Donetsk People’s Republic” to stand trial in Czech Republic for hate speech against Ukraine – Yahoo News

Nela Lisková is currently facing trial in the Czech Republic for allegedly inciting hatred against Ukrainians and the Ukrainian state. This information was disclosed by IDNES and reported by European Pravda.

The court case stems from a tweet made by Lisková several months ago, in which she expressed her hopes that those supporting the Ukrainian President, Zelenskyy, would be held accountable for their actions. Law enforcement authorities became concerned about this issue after it gained widespread attention.

On October 25th, Czech law enforcement announced that the pre-investigative stage had been completed and the findings had been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office in Prague.

In addition to this recent case, Nela Lisková had previously faced a fine of 50,000 CZK for promoting former Czech President, Miloš Zeman, and Russian President, Vladimir Putin, while representing the “Donetsk People’s Republic” in the Czech Republic from 2016-2017. This fine was imposed after Czech fact-checkers analyzed her social media activities and determined that she had ignited hatred towards a certain group of individuals and suppressed their rights and freedoms.

Lisková had made allegations against Olga Richterová, the Vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies, accusing her of wanting to bring in a large number of migrants to the Czech Republic. These allegations resulted in significant criticism towards Lisková on social media, including death threats. Ms. Richterová donated the 50,000 CZK she received as a fine to support fact-checking and press literacy initiatives.

It is important to note that a teacher in a school in Prague had also faced legal action for supporting Russia’s actions in Ukraine.
