Southeast end of Wenceslas Square shut down by bomb squad

Suspicious bag prompted a bomb squad response and a shutdown of the upper part of the Wenceslas Square.

Police were called to asses an unattended bag left in front of the newly-restored National Museum.

The bomb squad was present on the scene conducting a police operation. The black bag left on a footpath was later deemed to be a false alarm.

Images from the scene published by the Czech Police appeared to show a bomb disposal unit assessing a small black suitcase using a bomb disposal robot.

Eastbound traffic on Wilsonova Street towards Freeway D1 was detoured during the incident.
