The victim, a 44-year-old woman, found herself in the path of an oncoming tram, line number four, which was making its journey from Bory towards the city center. According to police reports, the woman stepped onto the tracks without looking, directly into the tram’s trajectory. The collision resulted in the tram pushing her forward approximately ten meters, leaving her with numerous serious injuries but, miraculously, alive.
A Race Against Time
First responders rushed to the scene, where they found the woman conscious but severely injured. “She suffered numerous serious injuries. We transported her to the emergency department of the Faculty Hospital in Plzeň at Lochotín, conscious,” stated Mária Svobodová, spokesperson for the rescue service. The tram driver, subjected to a breathalyzer test, was found not to have been under the influence of alcohol. Due to the victim’s injuries, a similar test could not be conducted on her.
