Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF)

Early July, 9 days. World-class film festival, day-trippable from Prague (2h train). Passes ~1,000 CZK/day; individual tickets from 130 CZK. Very sold out — book weeks ahead. See our Karlovy Vary guide.

Prague Proms

Late June to mid-July. Classical crossover: symphonic film scores, opera greatest hits, jazz-classical fusion. Municipal House and Rudolfinum. Tickets 400-1,800 CZK.

United Islands of Prague

4-day free festival on Střelecký ostrov and Kampa Island in late June. Czech and international indie, jazz, world music. Free.

Bohemia Jazz Fest

Free open-air jazz concerts on Old Town Square (usually 4 evenings in July). International lineup. Show up early for a good spot.

Letní letná

Late July–early September. New circus, physical theater, street theater in a big top on Letná Hill. Great with kids. Tickets ~350-650 CZK.

Signal Festival

Mid-October. Light art installations mapped onto Prague’s baroque and gothic facades. Free, evening only, ~4 days. Huge crowds; walk between installations from ~19:00.

  • Metronome Festival — early June. Big-name rock/pop at Prague’s Výstaviště exhibition grounds.
  • Colours of Ostrava — mid-July. Larger indie/rock festival 3 hours east; some Prague-based visitors day-trip.
