San Diego, July 26, 2024 – At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Max announced exciting updates for the highly anticipated second season of the animated prequel series, “Gremlins: The Wild Batch.” Highlighting the event was the addition of Marvel star Simu Liu to the main voice cast and the revelation that the new season will premiere on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

Simu Liu, known for his role in “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” will voice the character Chang, a charismatic bootlegger from one of San Francisco Chinatown’s most influential families. Chang’s adventures have led him to spend considerable time in Alcatraz, leaving his family to believe he is dead. His fate changes when he meets series protagonists Sam, Elle, and Gizmo, becoming their roguish guide to America.

The second season of “Gremlins: The Wild Batch” picks up a year after the events of season one, following Gizmo, Sam, and Elle as they journey from Shanghai to San Francisco. The trio encounters new supernatural creatures and mysterious characters as they track a new brood of evil Mogwai across the American West.

Returning to the franchise is John Glover, who played billionaire Daniel Clamp in “Gremlins 2: The New Batch.” While details of his guest role remain under wraps, fans can expect a glimpse into the Clamp family ancestry.

The panel also announced guest appearances by Michael Paul Chan, Ronny Chieng, Keith David, Will Forte, Kelly Hu, and Jimmy O. Yang.

“Gremlins: The Wild Batch” features an impressive cast including Ming-Na Wen, James Hong, BD Wong, Izaac Wang, AJ LoCascio, Gabrielle Nevaeh, Simu Liu, and George Takei. Produced by Amblin Television in association with Warner Bros. Animation, the series boasts executive producers Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Sam Register, Tze Chun, Brendan Hay, and consulting producer Joe Dante.
