AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire” Resumes Filming in Prague
AMC’s series “Interview with the Vampire” is back in action in Prague for its second season. After a 10-week pause due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the series is set to continue filming in Europe, thanks to a waiver granted by the union. The Prague leg of the production began in April and was halted in mid-July, with approximately five weeks of shooting remaining.
The series has been filmed at various iconic locations in Prague, including Barrandov Studio, Prague Castle, Old Town Square, the Estates Theatre, and the Vyšehrad fortress. The upcoming segments of the shoot in Prague will serve as a backdrop for 1940s Paris, with the city’s renowned blue street signs being a notable feature. Filming is scheduled in central Prague’s Malá Strana neighborhood, especially near the steps leading to Prague Castle and the adjacent Thunovská and Nerudová streets, from October 9 to 12.
The second season shifted its production to Prague after the first season was shot in New Orleans. The cast for this season includes Sam Reid, Jacob Anderson, Delainey Hayles, Eric Bogosian, and Assad Zaman. The series is based on Anne Rice’s novel, which inspired the 1994 film starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Kirsten Dunst.
Interestingly, “Interview with the Vampire” is the second major vampire-themed production in Prague this year, following Robert Eggers’ remake of “Nosferatu.”
