Several individuals were injured when a trolley bus collided with an overhead line pole in Otrokovice, a town in central-eastern Moravia with a population of around 20,000. The accident occurred on Tuesday shortly before midday. Emergency responders rushed 13 people to local hospitals, with five of them in critical condition.

Following the collision, the trolley bus remained suspended on the overhead line pole. Police reports confirm that no other vehicles were implicated in the incident.
For safety precautions, the entire street and nearby railway lines were shut down. This closure lasted about four hours for both recovery efforts and the initial investigation.

An emergency medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene, airlifting an 82-year-old passenger to a medical facility. The trolley bus’s 56-year-old driver suffered only minor injuries.
The cause and details of the accident are still under investigation by the authorities.
