Unit IT, a Danish family-owned IT provider, has appointed Fritz Øhlenschlæger as General Manager to lead and expand its operations in Prague. Fritz, who brings a wealth of experience and a successful track record from previous leadership roles, including the establishment of Itadel’s office in the Czech Republic, is set to steer the Prague office through its next phase of growth.

Fritz Øhlenschlæger’s tenure in Prague spans five years, during which he has become deeply familiar with the local business environment and culture. His previous roles include leading the Czech LEGO model factory and serving as Vice President and General Manager at Itadel, where he was instrumental in growing the office to over 160 employees. His new role at Unit IT will benefit from his extensive experience in business development, operations management, and international IT talent acquisition.
Reflecting on his appointment, Øhlenschlæger expressed enthusiasm about the challenges and opportunities ahead. “Setting up the fundamentals of a business—like company registration and tax compliance—is just the beginning,” he explained. “The truly exciting work is in growing the business, building a center of excellence, and fostering growth that benefits both our clients and our team. I aim to maximize synergies with our Danish offices to deliver unparalleled value.”
Fritz’s career spans 30 years across various leadership positions at prominent firms like Schur, One2One, and LEGO, where he honed his skills in marketing, turnarounds, and finance, maintaining a strong focus on people-centric approaches. This aligns closely with Unit IT’s values and emphasizes the importance of people in achieving business success.
Unit IT’s expansion plans in Prague include the recruitment of approximately 25 new team members in 2024, with 14 positions already filled and set to commence in spring. This expansion not only highlights the office’s growth but also its role as a competence center, attracting talent from across Central and Eastern Europe.
Øhlenschlæger noted the unique drive and motivation of the Czech workforce, which he attributes to a mixture of youth, talent, and diverse cultural backgrounds. “The social aspect of our work is paramount,” he stated. “With up to 30 nationalities under one roof, finding common ground and building a shared culture are critical. Embracing this diversity is a strength I am proud to foster at Unit IT, which is renowned for its robust employee culture.”
As Fritz Øhlenschlæger takes the helm at Unit IT’s Prague office, his leadership is expected to not only propel the company’s growth but also strengthen its position as a leader in the IT sector, building a thriving community of professionals and delivering exceptional service to clients.
